My friend, A, asked me this fashion question the other day.... Can you wear Havaianas with a Chanel bag?

Well A, my answer is a loud and proud : YES!

You can absolutely wear your Havaianas with an Hermes Birkin and you can certainly wear it with your Chanel classic and reissue 227's!

In my opinion, Havaianas, Hermes and Chanel have something in common. Hermes and Chanel are made by artisans that have been creating these bags in time-honoured tradition for generations. Havaianas, too, is steeped in tradition since 1907. Secondly, whether you like it or not, wearing these fashion accesories speaks volumes about who you are .....

An Hermes or a Chanel tote says to the world: I like handmade, quality, luxe things that last a long time.




Wearing Havaianas says: I'm approachable and down to earth and best of all, I like to have fun!



So, together: It's magic! Like a blazer with jeans or a sports car with the top down!

Once Upon a Time.....

This room, styled by Twig Hutchinson , speaks to me....

I imagine a beautiful young woman who lives in a stone mansion by the sea. She is getting ready to meet a boy tonight.

She puts on this lovely yellow dress and her grandmother's pearl and diamond drop earrings. She twists her hair into a loose chignon and slips into her gold Havaianas Fits.








She runs across the garden, when the sun is just about to set and the air is heavy with the scent of summer roses.

When she walks into The Maritime, He sees her. His green-eyed gaze follows her as she greets a boy standing with his friends. The boy is nervous and blushes when she kisses him on the cheek. She turns away to hide a little look of satisfaction.

She bends down to adjust the strap of her Havaianas. When she looks up, she sees a devastatingly handsome man sitting on a cane lounge chair smile at her. Her heart skips a beat.

He puts down his scotch on the rocks on the wooden arms of the lounge chair and picks up his white panama hat. He walks towards the girl in the yellow dress.....

OMG! I look at this and all I can think of is: Ouch! Aw! Ooof! Eeeek!

Here's why I can never get a Tattoo: 1. The PAIN and 2. I'm a Gemini. The mere thought of the permamence of tattoos already makes me hyperventilate.I'd be the girl who'll want her daisy tattoo changed to some tribal art and then to a bird every 8 months... Angelina Jolie is a gemini... maybe, that's why she's got so many tats!

Havaianas Around Town....

I was sipping my espresso at a cafe in Ion Orchard and I spotted a gorgeous family at a table beside us.

Now THAT is how you wear Pink Havaianas, I exclaimed to Mr. S.



Daniel and his family graciously allowed us to take a picture of them...

I spotted them again a few minutes later at the Havaianas Store at Ion getting Havaianas for the kids! Here they are modeling them....



" I reserved a pair of Black Havaianas Brasil and Kaiser, the manager, is calling me when it gets in", Daniel said....

Havaianas in a beach house......

Wouldn't it be nice to have to a little beach house somewhere? Nothing fancy.
Maybe an old fisherman's shack that you'd fix up with flea market finds....



It would just be the simple life....

There would be kids laughing, a puppy sleeping in a basket and music from an old record player....



You'd have a spare room for guests filled with great books to read....



The kitchen would be tiny and cozy but you'd have everything you'd need to prepare pasta and grill seafood and bake breads...



Friends would drop by for tea and stay for dinner.....



You'd have a big basket of beach towels and a basket of Havaianas right by the front door.....



Hmmmm..... I could sit here dreaming about that all day long....
